Phoebe looked at the rapidly expanding footprints and wondered how one child could make such a big mess. The footprints, puddles really, streamed across the kitchen floor, headed for - "Oh crap!" The water was headed right for the extension cord she knew she wasn't supposed to be using in the kitchen - but the deep fryer always tripped the circuit so she used the outlet in the living room. Phoebe quickly unraveled half the roll of paper towels and wiped up the mess. "Ick! It smells like a swamp! What has he been playing in?" |

She followed the footsteps to the back door, which was slightly ajar. "How can that baby reach so high?!", Phoebe thought to herself, exasperated. She had never had such a difficult babysitting job ever, and wondered why the parents of this this "perfectly normal child" had nervously rushed off in such a hurry. And they were paying her double the usual rate she received in Malvalle County. As she thought about this, a loud pounding started from the back yard, and was getting closer. | |

The loud thumping causes Phoebe to hesitate opening the door. She waits there for a few seconds and then forces herself to open the door and take a few steps outside. She nervously calls out to the little boy, "Franky?" Just then, a loud bang bellows from the old, aluminum shed in the back yard. The sound prompts her to pull out the big guns. "Franky! Your mom and dad are gonna give you a spankin' when they get home if you don't answer me!" Phoebe clutches her dress as she waits for a response. | |

Just then, the shed door explodes open and then slams shut. Phoebe clasps her chest with one hand as she tries to catch her breath. The door begins to open and close as it were caught in the wind. Each time it opens, Phoebe can hear the faint giggling of a child. She musters up the little courage she has left and yells, "Fran- ," but before she can finish, she is interrupted by the shed door swinging open and little Franky emerging from the dark doorway; giggling as he stumbles toward her. | |

The weight of Franky against Phoebe as she grabs him before his fall is surprisingly strong, and knocks the wind out of her. "Oof!" she lets out, and Franky responds with more giggles. As she recovers, she sees Franky is grasping something. Struggling, she pries out of his chubby fingers half a dozen bent nails, with major chew marks. She looks at Franky and his toothless smile, which was his signal to spit out one last knarled, twisted nail to the concrete floor. |

"Oh my god! Let's get inside." Phoebe carries Frankie through the door and then locks the door behind her. Frankie let's out a little whimper and she responds, "No more scares young man! You've already shaved a few years off my life." She sets Frankie down and he stumbles in front of the TV and plops down. He motions to a Shrek DVD on the TV stand and lets out a grunt. Phoebe walks over and picks up the DVD and looks at Frankie, whose toothless smile would melt any iceberg. "Ok, but be good." | |

The number of segments for a story is the number of user contributions to the story before it's finished.
For example:
A story with 10 segments will have 10 winnning, user contributions before the story will end. -
Velocity
Stories will advance depending on a combination of the number of votes, views and time. A story with fast velocity will require the least amount of votes, views and time to advance. -
Squirt Length
The maximum number of characters for each user's contribution.
